Puget Sound ESD Road to Independence

Puget Sound ESD Road to Independence is a no-cost transportation program for low income-special needs and Veterans. The program serves the North & East Pierce, as well as South King County areas, offering no cost rides to people to and from work sites and medical appointments. There are two ways that drivers can participate:

  • Drivers can participate in paid internships, OR
  • Drivers join the program to volunteer to pick up Riders.

Regardless, the drivers work a certain number of hours to earn their Class B CDL. In order to learn if you qualify to be a driver and earn your CDL, or if you qualify to be a rider, call the number listed below.

NOTICE: This service is not able to accommodate wheelchairs at this time.
